After working for two decades as an architectural photographer, my positive and meaningful experiences as a SMART Recovery volunteer facilitator inspired me to “go pro” and return to school to be a social worker. In the words of Momus, “One life’s not enough for all that we contain.” I never give up on anyone, including myself. Along the way, I’ve had the good fortune to become close to a wildly diverse group of people. Chicago has always been my home. I have a BA from University of Chicago (1988) and an MSW from Loyola University Chicago (2014). I was a Senior Mental Health worker at Heartland Health Services in Uptown 2015-2017, working with formerly homeless folks with persistent mental wellness and substance use issues.
