Tony May LCSW CADC: Therapist, Advisor, & Ally

My Approach

My approach to therapy is emotive, cathartic, and cognitive, and may include:

  • Cognitive-behavioral therapy to help you take back control of your life.
  • Psychodynamic “talk” therapy to clarify your thoughts, needs, and goals.
  • Motivational enhancement therapy to help you put it all into action.
  • Narrative therapy to clarify the story of your past, present, and future.

Who I Work With

I work with people of all ages from all walks of life. I am a trauma-informed therapist, and am sensitive to the unique issues affecting LGBTQIA+ folk, as well as people in nontraditional relationships. I emphasize sex-positivity and self-acceptance, and am informed about BDSM and poly subcultures.

About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a certified alcohol and other drug counselor (CADC), and can offer you evidence-based approaches to changing your behavior. My path to becoming a therapist began with attending SMART Recovery® in-person meetings.
